The Speaker of the Jubbaland Parliament, Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Gelle Aden Mohamed, and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Aydiid Suleiman Hashi, today received a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Kismayo.
During the meeting, the two sides held in‑depth discussions on the wide range of projects FAO is implementing across Jubbaland. The talks focused particularly on initiatives aimed at agricultural development, food security, and climate adaptation, all of which play a vital role in supporting vulnerable farming and pastoral communities in the region.
The leadership underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation to improve agricultural productivity, enhance community resilience, and advance sustainable environmental management in the face of increasing climate-related challenges.
