The Minister of Health of Jubaland, Ismail Ahmed Garas, today held a high-level meeting with a senior delegation from the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The session was attended by the Ministry’s Director General, Mohamed Hussein Mohamed, along with several departmental directors.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration between the Ministry of Health and IRC, with special emphasis on expanding support for healthcare services across Jubbaland. This comes at a time when healthcare needs are rising amid declining funding for essential medical services.
Minister Garas expressed his appreciation for IRC’s active role and commitment to improving health services, stressing the importance of sustainable and results-driven partnerships to address existing gaps and ensure quality healthcare for all communities in Jubaland.
Following the meeting, the delegation and the Ministry’s leadership conducted a field visit to Suuqa Cowska Health Center to assess service delivery and operational standards on the ground.
