The Court of Armed Forces and Serious Crimes of the Jubbaland Government today to hear the case of Mukhtar Abdi Adan (Hoobiye), who was a sergeant of the Jubbaland Forces and is accused of working with the Al-Shabaab terror group.
The chairman of the Armed Forces and Serious Crimes Court of the Jubbaland state, Major General Abdullahi Mohamud Ibrahim opened the court session and requested the parties to the case to present their case against the accused, Mukhtar Abdi Adan.
The Prosecutor General of the Jubbaland Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Ismail Abdi Ali read before the court the case against Mukhtar Abdi Adan (Hoobiye). He said that the accused began working with the terror group in 2021 and was in charge of revealing intelligence information from the security forces to the terror group. This was discovered after intense investigation was done through close collaboration between the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Special Forces of Jubbaland government.
The Chairman of the Jubbaland Armed Forces Court, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi Mohamud Ibrahim requested the accused to defend himself against the charges levelled against him by prosecutor’s Office.
The case was adjourned pending another hearing of the case.
