The Jubbaland government has today issued a press release condemning the blatant attack on the convoy of the Governor of Badhadhe district, Hassan Nur Abdi (Gaaljecelow) where five soldiers of the Governor’s guard were killed.
The Governor of Badhaadhe district was heading to Kulbiyoow area under Badhaadhe district before he was intercepted by forces loyal to the former commander of the Jubbaland Darawish army in Kulbiyoow area and others who had defected from the Jubaland government after being bribed with funds from a group who have sworn allegiance to Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The attack has resulted in the deaths of five soldiers from the Governor’s security forces, while others sustained serious injuries.
“The Jubbaland government sends its deepest condolences to the relatives and families of the heroes who lost their lives in that attack, praying to God to give the other soldiers who were injured a quick recovery “, reads part of the statement.
It further adds, “The Jubaland government clearly confirms its commitment to maintaining security in the Jubbaland regional state. The government is working towards bringing to justice all those involved in the heinous act against the delegation of the Governor of Badhaadhe District”.
“Jubbaland government stands ready to respond to any attack that undermines the development and governance of the people of Jubbaland and calls on all citizens to unite in defense of the governance system and general security in their areas”.
