Jubbaland Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs in collaboration with FGS Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs concludes workshop on countering extremist ideology

The Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs of the Jubbaland State of Somalia has today jointly concluded a workshop on Draft Peace Dialogue Strategy on countering extremist ideology.

The workshop was officiated by the Deputy Minister for Justice and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Sheikh Aden and his Jubbaland counterpart, Abdinur Ibrahim Hussein.

During the training sessions, it was agreed to continue the meetings of scholars and religious heads in a bid to raise public awareness on violent extremist ideologies.

The Jubbaland Deputy Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs, Abdinur Ibrahim Hussein has urged Somali clerics to play their critical role in countering extremist ideology within the population.

The training was officially closed by the Deputy Minister for Justice and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Sheikh Aden.

The two Ministries of Justice at the Federal and State Level are working together to raise awareness among the Somali youth who are susceptible to extremist ideologies and being taken advantage by terror extremist groups.
