Somalia’s friends in the international community have issued a statement on the crisis in Somalia, calling on Somali leaders to put the country’s interests first, defuse political tensions and refrain from provocations or the use of force that could undermine peace and stability.
They also called for the urgent need for a meeting of the National Consultative Council along with other consultations between key stakeholders to expedite and improve the process and for the elections to be concluded as soon as possible which will earn the trust of the Somali people.
