The Jubbaland Ministry of Justice and Religious Affairs has started a 5-day training on safeguarding and protection of children’s rights.
The training, conducted by the Dispute Resolution Committee under the Ministry of Justice, will focus on how to prevent child abuse and abductions, denial of access to humanitarian assistance, recruitment of children, child soldering etc.
The Minister for Justice and Religious Affairs of the Jubbaland state, Mohamed Yusuf Omar who officiated the training said children bear the greatest brunt of all societal evils and hence the need to protect them.
“Children are the most vulnerable in the society and there is need to prevent any harm reaching them. This training will put into sharper perspective on the need to safeguard children rights”, Said Mohamed Yusuf.
