President Farmajo to attend IGAD summit in Kampala, Uganda on 15th of this Month

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is scheduled to attend the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) summit in Kampala, Uganda on 15th of this Month.

This year’s conference will focus on the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia and the political crisis in Sudan following the coup.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Mohamud said that the conference will discuss how to agree on the situation in the region, especially the issues in Ethiopia and Sudan.

The Minister said he was saddened by what was happening in Ethiopia, as well as the impact it could have on everything happening in neighboring countries.

In Ethiopia, heavy fighting is raging between the Ethiopian Federal Government and the TPLF.

The Ethiopian government led by Abiy Ahmed, a close ally of President Farmajo, is fixed in a tough situation.
