The Vice President of the Jubbaland State of Somalia, Mohamud Sayid Aden has today met with UNOCHA Vice President, Cindy Issac in Kismayo to discuss the ongoing drought situation in Jubbaland state.
The Jubbaland Vice President was accompanied by the Minister for Relief and Disaster Management of the Jubbaland State, Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed.
The President briefed UNOCHA officials on the impact of the drought and called for assistance in providing relief to those affected by the biting drought.
The Minister for Relief and Disaster Management of the Jubbaland state spoke to the media after the meeting, saying that the delegation was briefed on the drought situation in Jubbaland state and agreed to cooperate in emergency relief to people affected by the drought.
