The council of candidates in the Somali presidential race 2021 have called for an emergency meeting aimed at discussing the political future of the Somali nation in light of recent events in the country.
A statement from the Union of Candidates also welcomed the decision by the Jubbaland and Puntland state administrations to held the poll consultative conference in the Somali capital, Mogadishu and not in Garowe as earlier suggested.
The council also said that the outgoing Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo could attend the conference with the same honors as the candidates if he is still in the race for the presidency.
