The President of Puntland State of Somalia Sacid Abdullahi Deni last night paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament Abdi Hashi Abdillahi at his residence in Garowe.
President Deni and the Speaker of the Upper House reportedly discussed about resolving the dispute over the 2020/2021 Electoral Issues, in particular the Somaliland Electoral Commission.
However, Upper House speaker Abdullahi Hashi strongly opposes the appointment of a committee by the Federal Government of Somalia for the election of members of both houses of parliament in Somaliland and demanded the dissolution of the commission.
The President of Puntland State and the Speaker of the Upper House are said to be united in their views on the dissolution of the Electoral Commission for the Federal Parliament from Somaliland.
