Police in Queensland, Australia, have shot dead a 22-year-old Somali man in central Brisbane.
The young man who was killed by the police was identified as Rage Mohamed Aabi and he was one of the Somali youths who lived in the country for many years. Police say the young Somali man was armed with a knife and risked his life.
Police also said he refused to surrender to police when they saw he was armed and proved resistant to the police which led to his immediate shooting.
The father of the slain Somali man said police had previously had problems with his son, including prosecuting him for crimes he did not commit.
