The security forces of the federal government of Somalia, particularly those of the National Intelligence Service, NISA have last night reportedly stopped a rally in support of Somalia’s presidential candidate Mustaf Sheikh Ali Duhulow.

According to sources, the ceremony was to be held at the Afriik Hotel near the KM-4 junction in Mogadishu.

Lawmaker Mustaf Duhulow, a presidential candidate, confirmed that he had been ordered to stop the ceremony shortly before the ceremony was to start, saying that NISA was behind the plan to block the rally.

This coincides with today’s announcement by other opposition candidates that federal government officials have deployed troops in areas of Mogadishu, particularly between the Sobe intersection and Aden Adde International Airport where most of them reside.
