Former Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Hassan Ali Kheyre has met with the Russian Foreign Minister.
“I had a luncheon with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today to discuss strengthening relations and cooperation between Somalia and Russia, as well as the general situation in the Horn of Africa region,” Kheyre said on his Facebook page.
Hassan Ali Kheyre added: “We had an engaging in depth conversation with him about the socio-economic and political developments in the region.”
Hassan Ali Kheyer was ousted as Somalia’s prime minister in July, a position he has held since 2017.
He is now one of the candidates who has announced his candidacy for the presidency in Somalia in the next election.
