Interior Minister meets with General Abukar Haji Hud’s faction in a bid to find a solution to Hirshabelle post-poll controversy

Controversy is still raging on over the recent election of the Hirshabelle Administration, which recently elected a new president but was opposed by some clans.

The controversy escalated after armed officials blocked President of HirShabelle’s access to Beledweyn.

Somali Minister of Interior General Mukhtar Hussein Afrah met with officials opposed to the president of Hirshabelle administration Ali Gudlawe on the outskirts of Beledweyne.

These meetings are aimed at finding a solution for the President of Hirshabelle to go to Beledweyne which was blocked after some Hirshabelle clans protested.

General Abukar Haji Warsame (Hud), the leader of the opposition to President Hirshabelle, met with the Minister of Interior as well as some traditional elders.
