
The Director General of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Jubaland State, Abdullahi Abdulkadir Adan (Qaanuuni), today received the UNDP Resident Representative in Somalia, Christophoros Politis, and the delegation he led following their arrival in Kismayo.
The meeting focused on reinforcing the longstanding partnership and cooperation between the Ministry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with particular emphasis on accelerating the implementation of priority initiatives outlined in the Ministry’s strategic action plans and enhancing support for justice sector development across Jubaland.
During the discussions, both sides underscored the importance of strengthening collaboration to fast-track the execution of key programmes and priorities of the Ministry. They emphasized that sustained partnership is essential to achieving tangible progress in the delivery of accessible, effective, and accountable justice services for the people of Jubaland.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review ongoing efforts aimed at improving the justice system and to explore avenues for expanding cooperation in areas that contribute to institutional development and the rule of law.
The Director General expressed his sincere appreciation to UNDP for its continued support and unwavering commitment to working closely with the Ministry in advancing justice sector reforms and strengthening judicial services throughout Jubaland.
