The Dhobley District Administration, in collaboration with the Jubaland Quality Control Authority, today destroyed a large quantity of expired food products in Dhobley town as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard public health and consumer safety.
The food items, which had exceeded their expiry dates and were deemed unfit for human consumption, were burned in a coordinated operation aimed at preventing them from entering local markets and posing health risks to residents.
Officials said the action reflects the authorities’ commitment to protecting the community from harmful products and ensuring that only safe and quality-assured goods are available for public consumption.
The Jubaland Quality Control Authority reiterated its dedication to monitoring market standards and combating the sale of substandard and expired products across the region.
The agency also urged members of the public to remain vigilant when purchasing goods, carefully check expiration dates, and report any individual or business found selling or distributing expired or unsafe products.
