The Minister of Interior Security of the Jubaland State Government, Maj. Gen. Yusuf Hussein Osman Dhuumaal, today chaired a high-level security meeting with senior officials and commanders from Jubaland’s security agencies, the 43rd Division of the Somali National Army (SNA), and the elite Danab Commandos, to review the security situation and enhance joint efforts against terrorism.
The meeting focused on strengthening ongoing security operations, accelerating strategies aimed at maintaining public safety, and intensifying the fight against terrorist groups operating in the region.
Discussions also centered on improving rapid-response mechanisms to address emerging security threats and emergency situations.
A key area of discussion was the security of Kismayo, where participants highlighted the importance of enforcing traffic regulations and controlling vehicle speeds on roads within the city. The measure is intended to enhance public safety, protect residents, and reduce accidents and other road-related risks.
Minister Dhuumaal and the security leadership further deliberated on ways to reinforce cooperation and coordination among Jubaland security institutions, the Somali National Army’s 43rd Division, the Danab forces, and international partners.
The participants emphasized the need for a unified approach to strengthening counterterrorism operations and ensuring lasting peace and stability for local communities.
Concluding the meeting, Minister Dhuumaal commended security commanders and personnel for their continued dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding the public, defending communities, and combating terrorism.
He praised their unwavering commitment to preserving security and maintaining stability across Jubaland.
