Jubbaland Officials Inspect Key Infrastructure Projects in Kismayo to Accelerate Urban Development

Senior officials from the Jubbaland government have conducted a comprehensive inspection of ongoing road and drainage construction works in Kismayo, reaffirming their commitment to improving the city’s infrastructure and service delivery.

The Minister of Public Works of Jubbaland, Abdiwahaab Ahmed Osman, accompanied by the Mayor of Kismayo, Omar Abdullaahi Mohamed, led the high-level delegation.

They were joined by the Director General of the Federal Ministry of Public Works, Farah Abdinuur Ahmed, as well as officials overseeing the Nagaad Project.

During the visit, the delegation toured several asphalt roads and drainage systems currently under construction across the city. The officials closely examined the progress achieved so far and assessed the overall quality and execution of the works being carried out under the Nagaad infrastructure initiative.

Particular attention was given to evaluating the durability and standards of the road construction, as well as the effectiveness of the drainage systems designed to address flooding challenges in Kismayo. The team also reviewed how the project is contributing to smoother transportation, enhanced urban mobility, and the overall aesthetic improvement of the town.

Speaking during the inspection, the officials emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction standards and ensuring that development projects deliver tangible benefits to residents. They noted that the Nagaad Project is playing a crucial role in transforming Kismayo’s urban landscape and improving the daily lives of its citizens.

The inspection forms part of broader efforts by the Jubbaland administration to accelerate the implementation of key development projects.
