The Jubaland Civil Service Commission on Tuesday convened a high‑level meeting in Kismayo to discuss comprehensive reforms to the government payroll system, a move aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and fairness in the management of public servants’ salaries.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Chairperson of the Jubaland Civil Service Commission, the Deputy Chairperson, the Secretary of the Jubaland House of Parliament, the SAAB Project Coordinator, Directors‑General of Jubaland government ministries, and heads of departments responsible for finance administration and human resources across various ministries.
Participants welcomed the proposed reform agenda, describing it as a timely and necessary step toward modernizing civil service administration.
Discussions focused on harmonizing the salary payment system for government employees to ensure that all staff receive their wages regularly, equitably, and in full compliance with Jubaland’s civil service regulations.
Officials emphasized that a unified payroll system would not only enhance accountability and transparency but also strengthen institutional efficiency and boost staff morale across government institutions.
The Jubbaland Civil Service Commission reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with line ministries and development partners to implement sustainable payroll reforms that align with national standards and support effective public service delivery in Jubbaland.
