The Director General of the Jubbaland Ministry of Interior, Abdiwahid Mohamed Dhaqane, accompanied by the District Commissioner of Kismayo and Mayor of the City, alongside representatives from UNDP, UNICEF, and the Embassy of Sweden, on Wednesday conducted a field inspection of major development projects implemented in Kismayo District.
The delegation visited Ganaane Primary School, where extensive rehabilitation works have recently been completed.
The upgrades focused particularly on improving classroom facilities, with the aim of enhancing the learning environment and overall quality of education for students.
Officials also inspected the Hormuud drainage channel, which has undergone significant rehabilitation to reduce flooding risks and improve environmental sanitation within the surrounding neighborhoods.
Speaking during the visit, Director General Abdiwahid Mohamed Dhaqane commended the efforts to strengthen public service infrastructure, noting that the projects play a vital role in promoting urban development and improving the aesthetic appeal of Kismayo. He expressed appreciation to the implementing partners and international donors for their continued support and collaboration in delivering these impactful community projects.
The inspection highlighted the strong partnership between the Jubbaland government and its international partners in advancing sustainable development and improving the well-being of local communities.
