The Speaker of the Jubbaland State Parliament, Abdi Abdirahman Mohamed today received the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Somalia, Mr. Antoine Grand, at the Jubbaland Presidential Palace.
The meeting focused on the overall situation in the country, with particular attention given to the severe impact of recurring droughts affecting several regions across the Jubbaland State of Somalia.
Discussions highlighted the urgent humanitarian needs arising from the prolonged dry seasons and their effects on vulnerable communities.
During the meeting, Antoine Grand reaffirmed ICRC’s strong commitment to supporting Jubbaland, pledging that the organization would play a significant role in providing humanitarian assistance and standing in solidarity with affected populations.
He emphasized ICRC’s continued engagement in addressing humanitarian challenges and strengthening support for communities impacted by drought and other crises.
