The President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today officially closed the annual Ramadan Qur’an Recitation and Memorization Competition, an event that brought together participants from across the Jubbaland regions to showcase their mastery of Qur’anic memorization and recitation.
In his remarks, the Jubbaland President praised the dedication, discipline, and impressive skills displayed by the young competitors. He encouraged them to continue deepening their knowledge, memorization, and practice of the Holy Qur’an, stressing the importance that the Jubbaland Government places on promoting Islamic education, moral values, and community awareness.
During the ceremony, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam presented awards to the top achievers in both the 30 Juz’ and 20 Juz’ Qur’an memorization categories. In the 30 Juz’ category, first place was awarded to Mohamed Abdulwahab Ahmed, who received a Toyota Surf vehicle. The second-place winner, Mohamed Nur Mohamed, was presented with a Toyota Succeed. Abdulkariim Ali Adam secured third place and received $2,500, while Amran Ahmed Yusuf took fourth place with an award of $1,500. The fifth position went to Ifraah Mohamed Abshir, who was awarded $1,000.
In the 20 Juz’ category, Yasin Mahmoud Nur took first place and was awarded a Toyota Premio vehicle. The second-place prize of $2,000 went to Ibrahim Osman Abdullahi. Sagal Yusuf Mohamed finished in third place, receiving $1,500, followed by Abdulmalik Hassan Iimaan in fourth place with an award of $1,000. The fifth-place award of $700 was presented to Abdurahman Mukhtar Mohamed.
Some winners who were unable to attend the ceremony had their prizes accepted on their behalf by their parents.
President Ahmed Mohamed Islam also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, the Ummah Foundation, and all scholars and organizers who worked tirelessly to ensure the successful delivery of this spiritually significant event.
