The President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, met with AFRICOM Special Operations officers to commend their continued support in advancing security efforts in the Jubbaland regional state of Somalia
During the meeting, the Jubbaland President expressed gratitude for the strong security cooperation between Jubbaland and the United States, particularly in the areas of training and joint counter‑terrorism operations. He highlighted the crucial role AFRICOM officers played in the recent successful operations against extremist militants across several areas of Jubbaland.
President Ahmed Mohamed Islam commended the officers for their professionalism, courage, and close collaboration with Jubbaland security forces.
In recognition of their contributions, he formally awarded them the Medal of Honour and Certificates of Appreciation, acknowledging their vital support across multiple security fronts.
The Jubbaland State President emphasized that the partnership with AFRICOM remains key to strengthening regional stability and sustaining the progress made in combating extremist threats.
