
The President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, has officially appointed Abukar Jimcale as the new District Commissioner of Jamaame, located in Lower Jubba region.
The appointment was confirmed through a presidential decree issued on 16 January 2026, citing constitutional powers granted to the Office of the President regarding the nomination of executive leaders within the state administration.
According to the decree, the decision follows:
Provisions of the Jubaland State Constitution empowering the President to appoint members of the Executive Council and district-level administrators.
The need to accelerate administrative efficiency and strengthen governance structures across regional districts.
With the President’s signature, the appointment takes immediate effect.
The new District Commissioner, Abukar Jimcale, is expected to assume his duties and lead efforts aimed at improving security, governance, and public service delivery within Jamaame District.
