The First-Degree Court of Dhobley District handed down a death sentence by firing squad to Jeelle Mohamed Osman, who was found guilty of fatally stabbing a 14-year-old boy and injuring another in the same attack.
The convict had been in police custody following extensive investigations that led to the case being forwarded to the court. The verdict was announced by the court’s chairman, Sheikh Mohamed Omar Yuusuf (Siraaji).
Family members of the slain boy and relatives of the accused were present when the ruling was delivered.
