President of the Jubbaland State Government, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, presided over a high-level Cabinet meeting today, with a primary focus on the region’s security situation and the broader political landscape of Somalia.
During the session, the Council of Ministers held an in-depth discussion on the unlawful interference by the Federal Government in Jubbaland’s internal affairs, particularly in the Gedo region. The Cabinet warned that such actions could escalate tensions and potentially lead to renewed conflict and instability.
In a significant move, the Cabinet also approved the Jubbaland Health Professionals Act, presented by the Ministry of Health and Social Care. This legislation aims to regulate and enhance the standards of healthcare services across the state.
Additionally, the Council endorsed the 2026 Annual Budget, amounting to $67,213,424.21, submitted by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. The budget outlines strategic allocations to support development, public services, and economic growth in the coming year.
