The Director General of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Jubaland Government, Nuur Omar Shalle, officially opened a high-level workshop focused on the critical role of internal auditing in enhancing financial transparency and accountability within the Ministry and across other government institutions.
The workshop, supported by the Public Resource Management Enhancement Project (SERP), aimed to foster collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and other Jubaland ministries. It emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and institutional accountability in improving public financial management.
Led by the Director of the Internal Audit Department at the Ministry of Finance, Abdirashiid Issa Harbi, the three-day training brought together key departmental heads and staff from various ministries. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on internal audit practices, financial integrity, and strategies to improve service delivery and trust in government financial systems.
The Director has expressed his gratitude to all attendees and contributors for their active participation and commitment to strengthening financial governance in Jubbaland.
