In a decisive counter-terrorism operation, Jubbaland State forces, in collaboration with the elite Danab Commandos of the Somali National Army, carried out a successful raid targeting senior members of the Al-Shabaab militant group in the rural outskirts of Harboole, Lower Juba region.
The operation, which was meticulously planned and executed, specifically aimed at high-ranking operatives of the extremist group who were actively involved in extorting local communities under the guise of collecting “Zakat” (alms).
According to military sources, several key figures of the group were neutralized during the raid. These individuals were reportedly responsible for orchestrating attacks and imposing harsh control over civilians, posing a serious threat to regional stability and public safety.
Security officials hailed the operation as a significant blow to the group’s leadership structure in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing targeted operations to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace in southern Somalia.
