
In a show of appreciation and solidarity, the President of Jubaland State of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, paid a morale-boosting visit to the United States military personnel operating under the AFRICOM mission in Jubbaland regional state of Somalia.
During the visit, President Ahmed Mohamed Islam has expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support the U.S. forces have provided to the Somali people—particularly in the areas of security, military training, and joint counter-terrorism operations against the extremist group Al-Shabaab.
He commended the bravery and professionalism of the American troops, highlighting their pivotal role in recent successful operations that dealt significant blows to the militants across various regions of Jubbaland state.
As a token of appreciation, the President officially awarded the troops with a Medal of Honor and Certificates of Appreciation, recognizing their outstanding contributions to Somalia’s security and stability.
