Key Stakeholders Convene in Jubbaland State to Advance Agricultural Development

A high-level meeting focused on the advancement of agriculture in Jubbaland has officially opened at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation. The gathering brought together key stakeholders from across the region to discuss strategies for strengthening the agricultural sector.

The hybrid-format meeting, chaired by Abdikafi, Director of Planning and Coordination, is part of the Somalia Food Systems Resilience Project (SFSRP), funded by the World Bank. The initiative aims to enhance food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agricultural practices across Somalia.

Key objectives of the meeting included:

1. Gathering insights and recommendations from participants at both district and regional levels.
2. Connecting farmers, researchers, government institutions, and private sector actors to reinforce the agricultural value chain.
3. Sharing findings from agricultural research institutions with stakeholders.
4. Discussing investment opportunities, infrastructure development, and support mechanisms for agricultural growth.
5. Aligning efforts with climate resilience goals, food security strategies, and environmental stewardship.

The meeting was attended by all district and regional coordinators from the Ministry of Agriculture, reflecting a strong commitment to collaborative progress in the sector.
