The President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today chaired a high-level special meeting of the Council of Ministers, focusing on the pressing political developments unfolding across Somalia.

The meeting delved deeply into Jubbaland’s official stance on the ongoing constitutional review and electoral process, which the cabinet criticized as being unilaterally driven and unrepresentative of the Somali people’s collective will.

In a unified resolution, the Council emphasized that critical national decisions cannot be made through exclusive processes. Instead, they called for an inclusive National Conference that brings together all stakeholders to chart a shared political direction based on consensus and mutual trust.

The meeting also addressed the Federal Government’s continued interference in Jubaland’s internal affairs, particularly in the Gedo region. The Council warned that such actions threaten peace, social cohesion, and regional stability.

Additionally, the ministers agreed to accelerate the implementation of a modern governance framework that ensures transparency, accountability, and continuous oversight of government projects. This move aims to guarantee that public initiatives deliver tangible and impactful results for the people of Jubbaland.
