Somali Prime Minister arrives in Seoul for 2024 Korea-Africa Summit

A delegation led by Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre arrived in Seoul, South Korea, on Sunday to participate in the 2024 South Korea-Africa Summit.

The summit, themed “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity,” is set to open on June 4, 2024.

The two-day summit will be attended by heads of State and government representatives from Africa, the African Union, and the African Development Bank.

“During the meeting, the leaders will also discuss global issues such as climate change, food shortages, and health problems,” said Somali Government Spokesman Farhan Mohamed Jimale.

The spokesperson added that Prime Minister Barre will hold sideline meetings with other African Heads of State and Government to discuss the general situation in Somalia and the progress made by the Somali government.
