Drugs seized in overnight security clampdown in Banadir region

Police in Waliyow-Caade area of Banadir region have last night carried out a security operation in Hodan district to flush out criminals who are said to have been carrying out crime activities in the area.

The security forces combed through houses and businesses in the operation and stumbled upon drugs, including a large quantity of hashish and cocaine in the area.

The scurity apparatus attributed the recent spike in insecurity and crime in Hodan district to drug abuse by youths.

Banadir Regional Police Deputy Commander, Ali Dhuh Abdi Mahadalle and Waliyow-cadde Police Commander who spoke to the press said that the drugs seized during the operation were part of the insecurity challenges in Mogadishu’s Banadir region.

They added that the operation will continue until the security of the capital is ensured, warning users and drug dealers of tough crackdown.
