The Federal Government of Somalia Minister for Planning, Jamaal Mohamed Hassan, accompanied by the Director General Asad Yusuf and advisers to the ministry, today met with UNICEF Special Representative for Somalia, Angela Kearney on a courtesy call on the Somali Ministry of Planning.
Issues discussed included the realization of environmental commitments, the implementation of sanitation and hygiene projects in the Benadir region and the implementation of a government-led initiative on data accuracy and building partnerships to realize the benefits of development in the country.
Minister Jamaal Mohamed has urged the envoy to strengthen co-operation with the Ministry of planning in a bid to strengthen UNICEF’s role in implementing the NDP-9 National Development Plan in Somalia.
