IGAD expresses concern over Sudan crisis

The IGAD executive secretary has expressed concern over the current deteriorating political situation in Sudan saying that he was closely monitoring the situation.

The Secretary-General strongly condemned any attempt to disrupt the TFG and urged all parties to exercise restraint.

He called for the immediate release of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamduk and all political leaders detained.

Sudan currently holds the rotating leadership of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and is a key member of the founding members of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
