Turkey condemns Awdheegle and Barire Al-Shabaab terror attack in Lower Shabelle region



The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Shangaani district and the attack on Al-Shabaab bases in Awdheegle district and Barire in ​​Lower Shabelle region.

A statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry said it was “deeply saddened” by the deaths of soldiers and civilians in last night’s attack and bombing in Lower Shabelle.

“We are saddened to learn that so many soldiers and civilians have lost their lives in Somalia in terrorist attacks,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also expressed its condolences to the government and people of Somalia and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the terrorist attack.

Finally, the Turkish government said it would continue to support the government and people of Somalia in their fight against the Al-Shabaab terror group.

Most of the government troops who were attacked in Lower Shabelle region were trained by the Turkish government which is one of the main supporters of Somalia.
