The Somali Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdirizak Mohamud Abubakar, met with the Chairperson of the African Union, Moussa Faki Mahamat, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Somalia and the African Union.
During the meeting, the two exchanged views on continental issues of mutual interest including regional stability and the renewal of the mandate of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) whose mandate lapses this year.
The Minister briefed the Chairperson of the African Union on the current political and security situation in the country.
