Puntland security forces carried out a security operation in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region last night.
The operation was co-ordinated by the Police Force, PSF and PMPF and was aimed at ensuring security in Bossaso, according to a statement from the Bari Regional Police Command.
During the extensive security operation, illegal weapons were confiscated from various neighborhoods in Bossaso.
Police also removed black car tints from vehicles which the police believed aided insecurity in the region.
In Bossaso, the election of members of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia will soon take place.
The town was recently visited by the Somali Police Force Commander, General Hijar and inspected the polling stations and the security forces.
