AMISON HELICOPTER CRASHES DOWN IN DHOBLEY, SOMALIA KILLING THE PILOT AND WOUNDING 3 OTHERS ON BAORD.

A helicopter belonging to the African Union mission to Somalia (AMISOM) force in Dhobley, Somalia has fallen from the sky shortly after take-off from Dhobely airstrip after delivering food stuff to the force yesterday evening.

The helicopter is said to have brought food aid to the AMISOM force stationed in Dhobley before falling with huge impact after developing slight mechanical errors while in the sky and forcing the Pilot to return the helicopter  back to Dhobley airstrip for emergency landing.

The helicopter Pilot died on the spot from the huge impact of the forceful landing while several others sustained severe injuries.

A Dhobley stationed local Journalist said the Helicopter came crashing down on a nearby thicket around the Dhobley airstrip killing the pilot and wounding 3 others on board.

” The helicopter hovered above the Dhobley airstrip in what looked like an emergency landing before it made a deafening sound and landing on a dense thicket. The pilot is the only casualty while 3 others escaped death narrowly and in the process got injured”, said Hanad Abdi Yussuf, a local Journalist.

There was no official statement  yet from  AMISOM at the time of going to Press.
