The Jubbaland Ministry of Religious Affairs convened a community peace dialogue in Koron-usle aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, resolving land-related disputes, and reinforcing the values of peace as guided by Islamic teachings.
The meeting brought together members of the Council of Religious Scholars, community representatives, and local residents to discuss practical approaches to addressing land conflicts and strengthening social harmony within the area.
The dialogue was led by the Minister of Religious Affairs of Jubbaland and attended by several senior government officials, including members of the Jubbaland Council of Ministers, the Ministry’s Director General, the Chairperson of Women Affairs for Lower Jubba Region, religious leaders, traditional elders, women, and youth representatives from the community.
Discussions focused on the critical role of religious leaders and community stakeholders in fostering reconciliation, preventing conflicts, and encouraging peaceful mechanisms for resolving disputes.
Participants also emphasized the importance of unity, mutual understanding, and adherence to Islamic principles in maintaining lasting peace and stability.
The gathering reflects ongoing efforts by the Jubbaland government to engage communities, religious scholars, and local leaders in advancing peacebuilding initiatives and strengthening social cohesion across the region.
