The minister praised the officials involved for managing the handover process with dignity, respect, and a strong sense of responsibility, noting that their conduct reflected a deep understanding of leadership and the importance of safeguarding peace, stability, and community cohesion.

He emphasized that the orderly transition serves as an exemplary model for public officials at all levels of government, highlighting the value of adhering to principles of good governance and peaceful administrative change.

Minister Dhumal also expressed appreciation to the President of Jubbaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, applauding his leadership and responsible efforts in pursuing a peaceful resolution to issues in the Gedo region. He noted that the President’s approach prioritizes stability, dialogue, and the broader public interest.
The Interior Security Minister further called on all security institutions of both the Federal Government of Somalia and the Jubbaland State Government to fully carry out their duties, work closely with the district administration, and strengthen cooperation, coordination, and measures aimed at protecting civilians.

He underscored the need to avoid political actions or other activities that could undermine institutional cooperation, regional stability, and public confidence. The minister urged all relevant authorities and stakeholders to intensify collaboration in security operations and efforts to eliminate terrorist groups, with the goal of freeing the Gedo region from security threats and ensuring lasting peace.

Minister Dhumal reiterated that preserving peace, promoting institutional cooperation, and serving the public are shared responsibilities that must be guided by the principles of public interest, the rule of law, and the stability of the Jubbaland State.

“The protection of peace, cooperation between institutions, and service to the public remain collective responsibilities that require commitment to the public good, legality, and lasting stability,” the minister stated.
