The Ministry of Health of the Jubaland State has conducted a specialized training workshop in Kismayo aimed at enhancing disease outbreak detection, emergency preparedness, and response planning among healthcare workers.
The training was attended by the Ministry’s Head of Immunization, the Lower Jubba Regional Health Coordinator, and the Kismayo District Health Coordinator.
Designed for healthcare personnel working across health facilities in Kismayo District, the workshop focused on strengthening participants’ knowledge and skills in the early detection of disease outbreaks, preparedness measures, and effective emergency response planning.
Speaking during the event, health officials emphasized the critical role of frontline healthcare workers in identifying potential outbreaks at an early stage and ensuring timely action to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
The initiative forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to bolster the capacity of healthcare staff in the prevention, detection, and control of disease outbreaks. It also aims to improve the speed and effectiveness of responses to public health emergencies, ultimately contributing to stronger health security and better protection for communities across Jubaland.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to investing in capacity-building programs that enhance the resilience of the health sector and ensure readiness to respond to emerging health threats.
