The Minister of Finance of the Jubaland State, Ahmed Abdirizak Mohamed, has officially launched the second phase of the IPSAS Budget Implementation Forum in Kismayo, calling on participants to develop practical and results-oriented plans aimed at strengthening the country’s public financial management system.
Addressing the session, the minister urged attendees to make the most of the forum by producing actionable recommendations that will contribute to enhancing financial governance, transparency, and the effective implementation of government financial reforms.
The forum, which convenes every three months, serves as a key platform for coordinating and accelerating the implementation of government financial management systems.
Discussions are focused on improving financial procedures and ensuring greater alignment among institutions involved in public finance management.
The event brought together members of the IPSAS Technical Committee, alongside officials from the Federal Government of Somalia, Federal Member States, and the Banadir Regional Administration.
The quarterly forum is expected to play a vital role in strengthening intergovernmental cooperation and advancing efforts to modernize Somalia’s public financial management framework in line with international standards.
