Police forces in the town of Dhobley carried out a large-scale security operation yesterday, resulting in the arrest of several individuals accused of consuming drugs and failing to observe the Holy month of Ramadan.
According to security officials, the coordinated operation targeted multiple neighborhoods across the town. Officers apprehended several suspects who were allegedly using different types of narcotic substances while also eating during daylight hours in the holy month of Ramadan.
Authorities stated that the operation also focused on cracking down on individuals involved in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, a growing concern within the community.
Security officers emphasized that legal measures will be taken against those arrested, noting that their actions violated both the law and the sanctity of Ramadan. The individuals are currently being held at the Dhobley Police Station and are expected to be brought before a court soon to face charges in accordance with Islamic law and local regulations.
Officials stressed that the purpose of the operation is to protect public safety and uphold the spiritual significance of the holy month, especially at a time when Muslims are engaged in worship and righteous deeds.
The police action comes after earlier warnings issued to the public, urging residents to respect the values of Ramadan and refrain from practices that undermine its sanctity, such as consuming food during fasting hours and engaging in drug use.
