The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Jubaland State Government, led by Minister Abdifatah Mohamed Mukhtaar, the Director General, Badal Jamac, and the entire Ministry staff, has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and the wider Jubbaland media fraternity following the sudden and tragic passing of Journalist Abshir Khalif Shide Omar in Kismayo.
The late Abshir Khalif previously served with Jubbaland TV and Radio Wamo, and was most recently a cameraman with HornConnect media outlet corresponding from Kismayo. He was widely recognized as an active and dedicated journalist who played a significant role in news coverage and community awareness across Jubbaland.
The Ministry expressed deep gratitude to the Jubbaland Police Force for their swift response to the incident. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect responsible for the killing is currently in custody, and efforts are underway to ensure that justice is delivered promptly.
The Ministry prays that Allah grants the deceased Jannatul Firdows and bestows patience and strength upon his family and the entire media community.
