Jubbaland Ministry of Health Holds Awareness Forum on Malaria Prevention in Kismayo

The Jubaland Ministry of Health has conducted a community awareness forum focused on malaria prevention in Kismayo district. The session brought together selected neighborhood chairpersons, representatives from internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, and health workers operating across local health facilities.

The event was attended by key officials from the ministry, including the Head of Health Awareness and Acting Director of the Community Health Department, Isaaq Bashiir; the Head of the Malaria Program, Abdikhadar and the Regional Health Coordinator for Lower Juba, Abdirisaaq Jaamuus.

According to the organizers, the objective of the forum was to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of community leaders and frontline health personnel so they can effectively educate the public on malaria prevention, its symptoms, and available treatment options.

Speakers emphasized the importance of collaboration between communities and health centers in reducing the spread of malaria and improving general public health. They noted that effective community engagement plays a crucial role in early detection, prevention, and timely treatment of the disease.
