The President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, today received at the Presidential Palace the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Representative to Somalia, Manuel Marques Pereira, and a delegation accompanying him.
The meeting focused on the ongoing drought situation affecting several regions of Jubbaland and the need for enhanced international support to mitigate the humanitarian impact on vulnerable communities.
Discussions also covered the final stages of the Kismayo Water Pipeline Project, which aims to supply the town with water drawn from the Juba River through the Yontoy area, a major infrastructure initiative now nearing completion.
