Elite forces of the Jubbaland State, working alongside the Somali National Army’s Danab Commandos, are conducting coordinated security operations against extremist militants following an attempted terrorist attack that disrupted public safety in the Kudhaa area on Wednesday.
The carefully planned operation resulted in the complete dismantling of the militant group that carried out the attack. Security officials confirmed that all armed fighters involved were neutralized during the operation.
Forces are continuing pursuit operations to track down any remaining fugitives, with commanders emphasizing that the mission will persist until all threats to public security andi stability are fully eliminated.
Senior officials reported that among those killed were high-ranking commanders of the militant group, including Buluc, identified as the intelligence chief for the Joorre Iidle area. Authorities described him as a key figure responsible for serious harm to local communities over an extended period.
“This operation marks a significant blow to the group’s operational capacity in the region,” security sources said, adding that continued vigilance and pressure will be maintained to prevent any resurgence.
Officials from the Jubbaland State Government have welcomed the outcome of the operation, praising the coordination between local forces and the Danab Commandos. They reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining similar operations aimed at safeguarding civilians and ensuring lasting peace and stability across the region.
