The Ministry of Information of the Jubbaland State has officially launched a comprehensive training program today in Kismayo, aimed at enhancing the safety and security of journalists as they carry out their professional duties.
The training, which brought together 30 journalists from both independent media outlets and government-affiliated platforms operating in Kismayo, is designed to equip participants with essential skills to navigate the risks and challenges they may encounter in the field.
The training event was presided over by the Minister of Information, Abdifatah Mohamed Mukhtar, who was joined by members of the Jubbaland government. The event was marked by a strong emphasis on promoting professional development and safeguarding the rights and well-being of media practitioners.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a safe and enabling environment for journalists, recognizing their vital role in informing the public and strengthening democratic governance.
